Black Ops 4: PC & Console Requirements and Other Release Info

The latest Call of Duty title, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, is finally going live tonight, October 12, 2018.

For Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players, the game will be available at midnight based on their local time. The PC version of the game will be available to play at 12 AM Eastern Time. This means that different regions of the world are going to have access to the game at different times, varying by time zone.

Console players should note that when the clock strikes midnight they will have to download and install a “Day One Update” before they can start playing the game. The update, which is roughly 50 GB, will have to be completely installed in order to access the Multiplayer, Zombies, and Specialist Headquarters game modes.

However, the Blackout game mode will be fully playable once the update reaches approximately 30% completion. Treyarch also mentioned that PlayStation players should have at least 112 GB of free hard drive space for a smooth download, despite the game itself requiring only 55 GB.

Black Ops 4 is available through Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher for those playing the game on PC. Treyarch recently released the specifications required to play the PC version of the game and they’re quite demanding.
